There’s no place like home…

So I learned a new bad word this weekend…FEVER. We would have been going home Sunday if Morgan had not had a 103% temperature! She won for having the highest on the floor in a while – woo hoo for us. We did sneek out of the hospital for some fresh air for 5 minutes while the nurses were not looking.
We should be leaving this fabulous hospital sometime this afternoon. I am packing up the monstrosity that has become her home away from home. Just found her sneakers and backpack she had when we came here November 24 with what we thought was anemia…I can’t believe I lost December. Well we are now going to be out of the bubble and working our way thru our new reality.
Our clinic day will be Monday. Every Monday Morgan and I will go to clinic for her treatments. Sometimes she may be admitted to the hospital (only if she has a fever), or get a transfusion. We did find out that her cancer did not respond as quickly to the treatments as we had hoped, so her process has been extended another 4 months…so total treatment process is about 3 years. However, still with the outcome of CURABLE.
Morgan and I will be staying at my parents condo for the first 30 days out of the hospital. In our house, her room is on the 3rd floor. If she is tired after a treatment, there is no way I can carry her 71+ pounds up 2 flights of stairs. One floor living with an elevator it will be.
