School days…
We are on day 3 of Morgan’s chemo treatments. So far so good. Hardest part seems to be the mouth care of mouthwash rinse to help prevent the severity of her mouth sores. I bought some similar mothwash so that we can swish, gurgle, and spit together. The minty flavor seems to burn her mouth, but it is necessary.
Morgan’s dad and I learned how to change the dressing on Morgan’s Broviac, how to flush her lines with Heparin to keep the lines from clogging, as well as changing the caps. It was a two-hour course, and easier on Chester the Chest, than Morgan. Morgan moves and kicks – Chester Chest did not. However, we completed the task for the evening without too many tears….from me.
OK, thanks to Max, Rachel, Tr. Carol, Aunt Jill, Grammy, Pop Pop and Katrina for visiting this weekend. The visits are a HUGE help to keeping Morgan’s spirits up. Hopefully, if we remain fever free, we will be checking out on Tuesday. We will know that this treatment is beginning to work within a week of leaving the hospital. Focus you thoughts on this treatment working!
