Morgan and Daddy
Well it’s time for an update! Apologies for the delay, the fourth of July weekend was a whirlwind to say the least. Morgan again, true to form, gets out of the hospital early, on Thursday instead of Friday because she is doing so well. The weekend was difficult, learning to adapt to Morgan’s new care regiment, while trying to work around a marathon work schedule. Morgan was happy to be home, but was still complaining of chest and belly pains.
Today we went to the Children’s Hospital BMT Clinic for Morgan’s weekly checkup. The Doctor’s said they were very pleased with Morgan’s progress, and even trimmed back her medications. Her blood tests came back with flying colors, all of her counts are way up, and the prognosis is good! The chest pains are, we found out, indigestion, and the belly pains should subside once Morgan get back to her regular diet.
Morgan has healed amazingly well, and looks great! While still a few pounds short of her usual weight, she is slowly regaining her appetite and the doctor’s don’t anticipate her having the feeding tube too much longer.
The picture above is a Morgan original. I love the fact that Morgan has no inhibitions about depicting herself with no hair. Just for the record her hair is already coming back. This is another major breakthrough as the Doctor’s told us not to expect anything for a few more months yet. She is just amazing!
