Transplant/birthday was March 25th. I explained to Morgan that she was not going to have 3 Birthdays! This transplant cancelled out the last…she finally agreed. What we are doing now is waiting, waiting, waiting. We want a reaction called GVHD (graft vs host disease), but not as bad as last time, and longer lasting than last time. There is no magic formula to make this occur, just wait and see.
Late into the night and into this morning, Morgan’s temperature began to rise. Before transplant this was BAD, after transplant it USUALLY means the coming of the GVHD…weird to say fingers crossed. We just want chronic ACUTE gvhd…I don’t remember learning that in High School or college, but then again can’t say I was really paying attention.
Everyday the staff bring in Morgan’s counts. After transplant you have 0 ANC and 0 cells, cause the body has been stripped clean. We are on day five after transplant, and today they did see 7 cells…not getting excited, but something is a happening…
