Flashes of Hope…
We checked in today for the battle of, literally, our lives. The positive wishes and thoughts are truly felt and heard. It is a scary time, and Morgan is so strong, it’s hard not to be strong for her. My biggest fear for today, was the taking of the liquid medicine that I was told was AWFUL. She began chemo treatments, which has her taking showers every 6 hours because the toxicity of the treatment can burn her skin if she does not rinse her entire body. She needs to change her clothes and bedding every six hours as well. This led me to add more to the economy by purchasing 10 “soft” blankets, so that I don’t have to wash EVERY day. Well she took the liquid like the champ she is, and complains more about the mouth swabs, which are the least evasive!!! OY!
An organization called Flashes of Hope came to our hotel/hospital room a couple of months ago to take some pictures of Morgan (and a horrified me, who had just awoken!) Their goal or hope is to show children, with cancer, that strength and beauty remain regardless of their physical ailments …you be the judge!
