Always be prepared…
For the next few weeks, we will be preparing for Morgan’s transplant. We have seen the eye doctor, dentist, cardiologist. We are seeing the pulmonary specialist today and will be getting a CAT scan in the next week. Morgan will check in on May 13, and then undergo another hard run of chemo before her “next birthday”/bone marrow transplant. We meet with the BMT team May 1 to better understand what we should expect. It will be hard for Morgan and us. She will probably need a feeding tube at some point, because her throat will be too swollen to eat. She will not be able to attend school until February 2010, and I think that will be hardest for her. Her visitors will be limited, and with the social butterfly that she is, that will be a harder pill to swallow than the ones she takes with icecream.
HOWEVER, after all this is thru, I believe (because I do not read ahead on these things, I just wait for the doctors to tell me) that we will be thru the storm and looking at sunny skies ahead. So, we do what we must do.
