School seems to be going very well, and she is definitely motivated.  She actually tells me when she needs to do her homework.

Her foot is getting much better and will hopefully start to heal faster now that she seems to be over the hump.  That’s all for now, we’ll keep you all posted.

Morgan was so excited to be back at School.

Morgan had a GREAT time in Disney and made many new friends!  A very special thanks to Elisheva, and the friends and family of Chai Lifeline!

Morgan had an absolutely wonderful time, and had many great stories to tell us about the things she did, and the new friends she made.  Her trip was a great opportunity to get out and about with other children who face the same types of challenges she faces on a daily basis.

One of the high points for us was when we spotted her at the airport we had run right past her and had to circle back to meet her.  She actually spotted us first and as Mama made a mad dash for Morgan I could hear Morgan saying “I want to stand up”, “I want to stand” so she could show us her latest success.

Mama hugged her so hard I think Morgan lost her breath for a moment.  It was a great moment!  Not only was it a joy to see her so happy, it was wonderful to feel her triumph to be able give stand up hugs once again!

Thanks again to GREAT people at Chai Lifeline for affording Morgan this trip of a lifetime!  We quite simply can’t begin to tell you how much your genuine commitment to helping others has made a life changing impression on us we will never forget!

Well it’s very late but I wanted to bring everyone up to date on Morgan’s trip to Disney!  Morgan is having a blast!  So much so that the conversations have been very short, and too few, but i guess that’s what happens when your that excited!

Sunday morning started very early, and Morgan was veerrry excited about getting to the airport to Meet Elisheva from Chai Lifeline who is her Buddy for the trip.  She popped right up and started running me down her checklist to make sure we had everything before heading to the airport.

Once she was sure we had everything we were on our way.  We met Elisheva, and the two of them went off through the security checkpoint.

As I watched from a distance, I could see the security officer talking to Morgan.  I couldn’t make out what they were talking about but I could see the huge smile on Morgans face which made me feel good because she was so happy, and excited that she wanted to tell everyone about her trip.

We received confirmation that Morgan touched down in Florida, and the rest of the story is in the pictures.  We’ll keep you posted as the report come in.

We get to the museum,  make our way through the maze of ramps, and finally reach our destination, CSI!  We listen to the CSI briefing, receive our clipboards and are directed to “Crime Scene 2″.  Our job is to observe every possible clue at the scene, and write our notes on the clipboards for later reference at the labs.

Morgan starts right in pointing out things she thinks are important, and then starts to speculate scenarios based on her observations.  I’m stunned!  So we press on.

As we move through the various labs, we are able to learn more details based on the lab results and how they relate to our notes.  As we move to the last two labs we suddenly realize that we are about to be late for our viewing of the 3D Dinosaur film thats about to start.  We rush through the last two labs and solve the crime!  We think…

We make it to the film just as it starts and spend the next twenty minutes dodging dinosaurs.  It was a great day for both of us and there was lots of conversation back home.

So the Great News is Morgan managed to an excursion of her own!  Morgan managed to get herself up off the couch, and walk on her own from the living room all the way to the bedroom.  Granted, not a huge accomplishment of us, but for Morgan it was a tremendous leap of faith.  But wait there’s more!

Morgans results from her most recent clinic visit were nothing short of spectacular!  While Morgan is still working her way though several issues, her counts were through the roof.  The highest they have been so far.

I wonder if it has anything to do with her upcoming Disney trip?

Morgan is still dealing with some internal issues, and the pesky wound on her foot from her fall it taking it’s good old time healing, but her clinic visit today gave us some good news that her counts are back up, and her foot is doing ok.

Morgan has expressed a lot of interest in the CSI exhibit at the Franklin Institute so I think a little sleuthing may be on the horizon.

Morgan’s spirits are high and she is putting a lot more effort into learning to walk again.  She still needs a walker, and travels in her wheelchair, but she’s making great progress!

This time her counts are the opposite of how she is acting. Her counts are low, but her spirits are high. Makes this stay a little more tolerable. Her main focus is to get stronger and healthy, so she can go on a trip to Disney (yes, Disney again!) with an organization called Chai Life. She is also counting down the days when she can return to school – a kid yearning to go to school…who’d a thunk it

Morgan’s spirits are high and she is very active this morning, so the Doctors are not very concerned, they just want to be cautious, and pro-active if the situation calls for it.

At some point today or tomorrow Morgan will be getting an EKG to get a clearer picture of her heart.  We’ll keep you all posted.

The thermometer read 101.6 then 102, then 101.8. Anything over 101 means a trip to CHOP, 6 hours in emergency, and at least a 23 hour stay at the Inn.

So far we know that Morgan is still battling with pneumonia and a mold infection in her lung.

The course of action is a barrage of tests and antibiotics. Morgan started out well but became sleepy during the process, then the crankiness set in and after that she got down right mean.

I still have 3 more pills to give her tonight. I might need support!

At this point everything is under control and Morgan is sleeping quietly.

Tomorrow morning will bring art, video games and poker! Yes, she does know how to play, and we use real casino chips. I almost choked tonight when she asked me about the “buy in”.
