O.M.G…I am tooooo old for this…
Had the LP on Thursday, went great. Morgan woke up, asked for food, and had 4 spare ribs and a pack of pringles! The nursing staff said they had never seen anything like it. We then went on to radiology to get ready for next weeks full body radiation. Morgan was busy eating Doritos and playing her DS during this visit.
Friday morning I woke up at 5:15am, packed the car, woke up the girls and by 7:15am we were on the road to the Mystic Aquarium to touch a Beluga Whale. We made it there in 5 hours – I told the girls they had only 1 pit stop. They were good soldiers!! The whale we were able to touch was Naku, female, born 1981, and the only girl who carries 1400 pounds REALLY well. We were able to touch her melon and tail … the boys will be lining up for this experience.
We then drove onto New York, had dinner at Buddakhan, then passed out (on California twins). Woke up at 7:30am, all excited for the American Girl experience. O.M.G., never was into dolls, but holy moly, there was no recession going on here! the girls had a blast, and definitely put money back into the economy! While we were waiting for lunch, Morgan asked if she could get more earings for her doll (becasue she just had her dolls ears pierced – yeah, they do that there). I was trying to explain that she had picked out enough…she did not need to spend another $10. A woman approached and said that she did not mean to eavesdrop, but would like to give Morgan the $10. I said thank you, really, but I am trying to teach her that there is a ceiling. The woman smiled, and explained that she had been diagnosed with lymphoma 15 years ago, and had some understanding what we were facing. What am I going to say to that! I said thank you, turned to Morgan and said “You do understand that when your hair grows back, this will not be happing anymore?!” She smiled and thanked the woman for the $10. We had lunch in the Cafe (thanks Tania – again!) and then headed back to the hotel.
I am exhausted, tomorrow is afternoon tea with some of the “girls”! Mine might have a little something else in the tea!
