Tracking Up
Well it’s been a turbulent week at the Inn. Morgan’s transplant is beginning to graft and she has been having a difficult time with coughs, nausea and pain. She has been in and out of some very high fevers all week long and the Nurses and Doctors have been doing an amazing job of monitoring her symptoms and being proactive to head off any issues that have been arising.
Dad had to have surgery last week which turned out to be much more then expected, and Mom has been doing double duty at the hospital. It has been difficult to say the least. Today we received some great news. As you may know, after transplant we have to wait for Morgans numbers to come back up. Her ANC count needs to hit the 200 mark and her blood cell count has to be 100.
Typically at this stage Morgans counts should hover around 0-40 for ANC and 35-65 for her cell count for a few days until things start to track up better, and then there is an ebb and flow back and forth until things balance out and settle down. Well Morgan ebb’ed from a 35 ANC / 25 Cell Count yesterday to a 728 ANC / 100 Cell Count today! While we don’t expect it to level off at that number right now it is a great sign of Morgans recovery rate.
