Time Warp…

March 31st, 2009

So, huge apologies for not checking in lately.  Technical difficulties with the site that seem to be now fixed!  So last we left off, we were SUPPOSED to be in the hospital another 1 -2 weeks.  Sure enough, true to Morgan form, the next day Morgan went from 0 cells to count to 100 (which [...]

Spring Break

March 23rd, 2009

Friends is off for Spring Break, but school is still in for us at the hospital.  Morgan’s counts are still “zero”, but her spirits are back to infinity!  The doctors figure we’ll be in the hospital at least another 2 weeks, possibly 3.  Morgan is starting to “take” her shots amazing well.  She called me [...]

Bacteria the future…

March 20th, 2009

The last few days have been even less than a picnic than previous weeks.  Morgans counts, as mentioned before, have gone to zero.  Not like the Magic Zero from her school play she missed last week.  Thank you to Teacher Carol for bringing the CD over for us to watch, and watch, and watch…thanks, really, [...]

Down for the count…

March 17th, 2009

Morgan’s counts have finally come down.  Now we have to wait for them to come up before we can leave.  This was expected, and what we were waiting to happen.  Morgan will be a little more sleepy and sick for the next day or so.  She’s in “lockdown” until the counts come up, so visits [...]

A shot in the dark…

March 14th, 2009

Ok, these GSF shots ( I think that’s what they are called) are to help Morgan get her counts up faster, so that we can leave the hospital.  We started them yesterday.  These are shots that I have to give her daily once we leave the hospital…yeah, we may be staying a little longer. Let’s [...]

Morgan was amazing at 7am.  She took her eye drops, and rolled over (while I was pretending to sleep) to tell me it was time for her shot (which I did not remind her of the night before).  So, I was pretending to sleep, hoping she would want to stay quiet while she got her [...]

Calling all donors…

March 11th, 2009

As we anxiously wait to see if the 5 identified individuals match Morgan, the school she attends, Friends Select, stepped up yet again and organized a Bone Marrow Drive!  We will not know for weeks whether or not the donors found will actually match Morgan.  A drive will allow us the opportunity to add more [...]

1, 2, Wii…

March 10th, 2009

We’ve checked back in, and alas - to the HoJo side of the hospital:(  ANYWAY, great news.  The oncology team has identified FIVE donor matches for Morgan.  These individuals have been “activated”, meaning they have accepted the task of being a donor and are currently undergoing the tests that are needed to see if they [...]

So we checked in yesterday to the HoJo’s side of the hospital.  However, we are only here until tomorrow, so not too bad.  Her friends Olivia and Aiden were here yesterday playing up a storm with Morgan.  Her mom Kellie called me to tell me that her kids did not want to leave, which Morgan [...]
