News from the medical front…Morgan’s cancer is in question as to remission. Therefore, the doctors would like to re-start her treatment from the beginning…better to be safe than sorry. What this means is that on Friday we will begin her treatments as we did when we first found out about her leukemia. [...]
And the Rollercoaster ride begins…
There’s no place like home…
So I learned a new bad word this weekend…FEVER. We would have been going home Sunday if Morgan had not had a 103% temperature! She won for having the highest on the floor in a while - woo hoo for us. We did sneek out of the hospital for some fresh air [...]
Remission
That’s right, I said it! The doctors are 95% positive Morgan is in remission, and we should be home by Monday!!! She had her bone marrow tap this morning, and through the microscope there seems to be less than 1% of the leukemia cells left in her marrow. If her counts stay [...]
5 days…
Sorry for not writing but I was kicked out of the hospital Monday night with what we thought was food poisoning, and turned out to be a stomach virus some of the other parents on the floor had come down with - NOT FUN! Worse, I lost NO WEIGHT!!
Monday, Max visited with her [...]
Hi Everybody!
Hi everybody!
It’s me Morgan! I asked my Daddy to write this letter to everyone. I want to wish everyone a Happy Hanukkah, and a Merry Christmas.
Hello to all of my friends at school. I can’t wait to get back to school and see everyone. Hi to Bruno and Suzie. I miss [...]
The Counts are In!
Well, the counts are in, and Morgan’s ANC is puttering around just below the magic number of 200, where she needs to be for a couple of days before we can go home. She continues to be in great spirtis, but is getting a little anxious to get back home.
Her appetite is through the [...]
9 days…or less!
Reports from the medical staff of “Team Morgan” let us know that all of her abnormal pre-B cells are no longer in the blood floating around in her body. What this means is that she has less pre-B cells, or Blasts, inside her bone marrow. This is what we have been waiting to happen. As soon [...]
10 days
The hospital had a holiday party for all the families on the floor last night, with food and presents for all. Morgan really enjoyed herself. We continue to have challenges with the tummy, but Morgan is doing her best to “work thru” it. It becomes a wait and see game as we [...]
12 days
Morgan continues to eat like a trucker - I apologize to any dainty truck drivers out there. Loving her carbs like nobody’s business! Also loving her math work in school - she keeps having me quiz her on double digit addition. Watch out Tr. Carol and Tr. Liz.
I will be going to the outpatient clinic [...]
13 days
OK, sorry I did not write over the weekend, but even the girl/guy upstairs took one day of rest, I just waited and put 2 days together. Morgan had a good weekend. The medicine she is taking does seem to make her tired, so she has started taking some cat naps, or just laying down [...]
